The other thing about the Emporia system, is that with the EV charger, which is highly rated, you can have the monitor and EV charger work together to charge on excess solar instead of selling it back to the grid. This is the cheap way to help future proof your PV system against NEM 3. Just put the excess solar in the EV for use later on. Very affordable and can be installed in about 1-2 hours at most in many cases. Affordable enough that it would likely be cheaper to leave in place than return to remove it.
