[RE-wrenches] Bi-facial optimum site

Hey Folks,

             I have an 18 ft X 36 ft"carport" type rack that currently
has regular PVs installed, close to due south, tilt at 20 degrees.  The
lower south edge of the array is 18 ft off the ground as the upper edge
of the array abuts the upper of the roof of the 3-car roll-up door
garage that its stands in front of.

Bi-facials were not so much in our quiver back when the
original PVs were installed.  Now though I'm wondering if there's any
experience (or warnings) out there for swapping out the single surface
PVs with bi-facials.  If we did so we're thinking that spreading 3/4"
white crushed rock or white tinted concrete (or something else?)in an
apron of sorts under and 10-20 feet in front would make for a
significant boost in back-side PV power production. Single side power
production rating would also go up by ~ 28%.  Is it overly optimistic to
expect an additional average 15% with this scenario?

Granted there would be some blockage from the back-side
racking but its diffuse light. Normally you wouldn't expect much
reflection from the south side of an array to the back side of the PVs
but with 20 feet off the ground on the south side and a shallow tilt......

Any experience with this "remodel" idea appreciated. Pic
