[RE-wrenches] Sol-Ark Technical Question

Hello Drake,

Making adjustments like this would be best to have a review by our support team. Reducing the global AC output of the inverter involves a thorough understanding of the installation site and the overall goals for the system. To determine the best course of action, we’ll need to gather some key information, some of these questions would include:

What are you aiming to achieve with this installation?

How is the system currently configured?

Is this requirement expected to change in the future?

Is the inverter operating in grid-tied or off-grid mode?

Depending on the site’s purpose and configuration, different approaches may be more suitable. Some customers benefit more from setting a max A discharge rate, using the load limit power setting (if supported by the inverter firmware), or receiving a command to reduce the global AC output.

Each option has specific requirements, and in some cases, these changes may have a permanent effect on the inverter. That’s why it’s critical for our team to fully understand the setup before recommending a solution.

Hello Jharen,

Members of the RE Wrench list are still hoping for an answer to the question of how to program a limit on the AC output of Sol-Ark inverters. Can you send an explanation to me, to post on the list, or post it yourself if you are able.

Thank you,

Drake

Hi Jharen,

Paul Wood will be contacting you. We talked during the system redesign process. Paul is one of the physical installers of the system.

This system has 9 Sol-Ark 15K inverters. Breakers are tripping on the input and output.

Thank you,

Drake

Hello,

I'd like to get this question resolved for you as quickly as possible. Could you please reach out to me at jharen.poole at sol-ark.com with the details of how much power or amperage you'd like to limit for this installation? Additionally, please include any relevant information about the inverter and its setup—such as inverter SN, whether it's configured for zero net metering or any other specific setup.

If I understand the question correctly, you can use Time of Use to set the maximum charge or sell power in watts for up to 6 time slots. I believe this will limit only the battery charge or discharge rate, however. I don't believe this will limit the total input (loads plus battery charging). You can limit the total sell power with the Grid Sell feature in the System Work Mode settings. The Max Sell Power should limit the total solar export plus battery selling to this setting.

Sol-Ark has not been available to answer a question.

We need to reduce the AC amperage input and output on a system. Tech support had assured us that this can be done, prior to installing the system. It is unclear how to do this.

Does anyone know how to adjust the AC in and AC out maximum amperage on the 15kW Sol-Ark inverters?
