[RE-wrenches] Outback AGS issue

I’ve got an original MATE ( tan oval ) 
, dual VFX set up that will not start before the inverter reaches LBCO, I believe. I need to confirm the actual inverter error. 
I tested the AGS function and it did start with the 2 min trigger VDC, and stop after the set Absorb time was reached. 
The customer reported that two days later, they lost power and the generator had failed to start. 
I am thinking now to try a new MATE3SL 
Is this the best next step to try and get this problem solved ?  Any other testing suggestions?
