They are very easy to separate the pump motor from the pump head. It's a single threaded connection that holds the 2 together with a little bit of oil on the motor side. The issue is no one carries the extra parts so very long lead times from Grundfos and they are not cheap I think its like 1800 for a new pump head. At that point you just bite the bullet and buy a brand new unit with 2 years of warranty.

I never use the Grundfos pumps, but use standard AC deep well pumps, so long as the inverter can handle it. The off the shelf pumps aren't as efficient, but stay in the water for much longer. They are also cheaper.

An SQF quiet? I've had three 3 SQF-2 and they are all quite loud, even 300 ft down the well. Maybe the 6 SQF is different. My old 3 SQF-2 will still pump water but not against much head. I think it failed because it had been running 24/7 for some time. If the leak is in the well it might even have heated up the water. I'm still looking for that leak.Time to pull the pump yet again.

Hello All,

I just replaced a customer's Grundfos 6-SQF-2.  It had stopped pushing water to their upper cistern.

A new pump solved the customer's problem, but I am curious if anyone has had luck repairing a SQFlex pump or (better yet!!) knows of a service center that could refurb a pump.?

The pump I removed did move a little water once I had it un-coupled from the plumbing in the lower cistern spring box.  It made a bit more noise when operating than the new one which is incredibly quiet.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Thank you!
