I think it is the battery that is most important in closed loop, as that 
is where the cost/warranty is. I have an email out on this for another 
friend and will get back. Below is the SMA Island manual for Discover 
AES battery link. Each Inverter company has a manual from AES for their 
battery. Not sure why an Inverter make would not want to do this but...
