[RE-wrenches] Shading from Overhead Transmission Lines

The only experience I had with a PV array under the high voltage
transmission lines was that the utility pulled out a 500' access rule and
wouldn't allow the system to be installed.
However, I would agree with the prior responder that the shading will be
proportional to distance from the array. I would imagine that the poles /
towers would be a bigger issue for shading and that the high voltage
transmission wires would be negligible at 60' or more from the array. A
close approximation of shade band could probably be made via geometry.

Subject: [RE-wrenches] Shading from Overhead Transmission Lines
Hell RE-Wrenches -
Do any of you have experience with locating ground-mounted PV systems under
high-voltage transmission lines? We have an electric utility client who
would like to use some of its land underneath its HV transmission lines to
install PV. Is the shadow cast be the overhead wires significant enough to
affect the string voltages in the array? Should we go with micro-inverters?
Thank you,
