[RE-wrenches] Generator brains

(Accidentally hit send before finished)

A few years ago we addressed this on a Kohler 11RES installation. We put a 20w module and controller on the starting battery for the control load. The other loads - carb heater and something else I don't recall - ran off the inverter's AC, but with a manual spring-wound timer at the gennie. That way the heater load only runs when needed to prepare for a cold-weather start. Works well.

I would like to think the PV would take some of the load off the AC connection to the main off-grid system, with no conflicts.
