[RE-wrenches] Recommendations on diversion load

Hi Kevin;
 I agree those dump loads were marginal as far as construction and
capacity. I believe the actual manufacturer was Missouri Wind and Sun, the
HL-75/100 units still show on video on their site. The riveted connections
to the resistor lugs were not good, and backside heat problems as you
mention, and serious expansion and contraction issues. Now they just sell
the resistors, no enclosure. There is a need for a sturdy and reliable
product here. Unfortunately getting a UL listing is so expensive.....but
that may not be an issue for you out back of beyond Smithers, I know and
love the area!
The usual DC replacement water heater elements available everywhere have
always worked fine for me. Another need for a product is one that also has
a switchable 120VAC capability for shore power.
At this time I don't know of any solutions for this situation that don't
involve hacking together your own enclosure and air heating elements, and i
would suggest a fan, as you are dumping power anyway.
Best of luck and best regards;

Dan Fink
