[RE-wrenches] Manufacturers warranty......

This is exactly why I push the SMA SI/SB product lines. Yep quite the price point but hassle free (my personal experience) tech support & IF required, hassle free replacement + shipping both ways on them! Something I stress with my clients... your off grid, why do you want a product that the manufacture is unwilling to replace repair or compensate the installer, just makes for an all around pissed off bunch of folks. Some pay up front and some wish they had!

As far as off-grid, I think only SMA will compensate you for warranty work here. I think $250/inverter is typical for string inverters, and I'm not sure with microinverters. The compensation is not really enough to cover the time, but at least its something.

I think that the only approaches that you have are 1) to let the company know (by emailed letter to the named person in the highest position that you can identify, with cc's to a few others at the company to make your letter harder to bury or ignore) that until their no-compensation policy is corrected, you will look elsewhere for equivalent products; and 2) to attempt to motivate others in the industry down there to do the same - that is, public shaming. Based on what you wrote, you certainly have a valid case in the court of public opinion.
