[RE-wrenches] Tilt Racking vs Roof Mount for Shedding snow

Snow starts to naturally avalanche at 32+ deg.

There are a couple of aspects that I design with if you want snow to slide: Angle & the big thing is giving the snow somewhere to go. If it builds up and accumulates it does not matter what angle you set it to. To install 2 modules in a column on a roof and allow for snow (depending on elevation & yearly snow levels) I will allow for 24-36 inches below just to allow the snow to drop off & accumulate slide away or melt. Roof composition influences this also, as painted metal roofs tend to slide, rusty metal kind of stick and comp roofs just hold the snow till it melts.

When it melts go boating!

Hi Guys, I have a customer who seems convinced that tilt up racking sheds snow better than conventional roof mounted arrays (irregardless of angle or panel manufacturer). Anyone else find this is true? Thanks db
