[RE-wrenches] older magnum MS

The old Trace SW series had a similar issue with Rogers-White(?) boiler
controls. It had to do with how the sine (pseudo) wave crossed the X axis.
It was too long a space and the controllers just sat there definitely on but
doing nothing. I was shown this on an oscilloscope and it was very obvious.

Jay,
I can't answer your question, but only relate that I had a similar
experience.

An early Magnum MS4448AE would not reliably start and run a modern hydronic
boiler in an off grid home. I had opened a case with Magnum tech support,
but the frustrated HVAC contractor pulled the unit and installed a different
brand of boiler and the problem disappeared.

In my own home my MS4024AE has nothing it won't run, and it's a newer unit.
But whether that's coincidental or the result of an inverter firmware or
hardware upgrade, I can't say. Maybe Gary Baxter can?

HI All,

I"ve had someone ask me about the following magnum and I know there are many
more experienced folks that maybe can chime in.

MS4448
V1-00138
2007

The problem is that for the life of the inverter it hasn't worked well for
things like digital/electronic washer/dryers, even glow bar ovens etc.
I don't have all the specifics yet and haven't visited the site.

With new units I've not seen this. Are there some issues with these older
units?
And if so, any fixes?

thanks
