[RE-wrenches] Wrong title on my inquiry ... Charge Controller Question!

Good morning Wrenches,

Disclaimer: I passed this question to Wrenches at the request of one of my salesman during a very busy day (aren't they all?). So I had not vetted it prior to sending. He is botching my street cred! I actually have been part of many battery designs and installs.

Moving along... I couldn't agree more with the comments following my post. This Controller has sketchy written all over it. Here is what my salesman said in response to the replies...

"We can stack (8) of the Midnite Classic 150s, likely worth the extra $900, but (12) 60A Tri-Stars may be a bit much. I may also look at AC coupling to pull out the DC combos."
"In reference to flexibility, we were looking at this option to reduce additional DC combiners on the PV side and reduce gear for the combined output of multiple charge controllers. Space is also a concern, as we’re building an enclosure for the equipment."

Best Regards,
Karl Jaeger

Up to 960 A max charging current?

Was this thing published on April 1?

It must have been!

After reading through the brochure, I'm not very impressed. Do yourself a favor and listen to what Ray said. Stick with proven, mainstream CC manufacturers. The fact that it is not an MPPT controller is a major drawback in any system over a few hundred Watts.
