Other than cost, why not just buy an extra connector and cap it. It
provides a lot more flexibility in terms of locating your j-box. Or, you
can use the new Engage coupler to extend the Enphase cable with standard 4
conductor Type TC-ER cable (5 conductor for 3 phase).

Not to hijack the thread, but is there a suitable AC combiner junction box
for combining up to 4 strings on the roof, preferably in a compact box that
fits under modules? I'm thinking something like what SolarBOS has for DC
conductors. Obviously it would require appropriate circuit protection...
