[RE-wrenches] S5! question

All -
We attempted a couple of jobs with the S5! kit and no rails and lining
everything up was tough. Pro Solar rail directly to the S5! clamps works
great or Unirac with L feet even gives more installation flexibility.
Sounds like almost all of the responses are along these same lines.

And if used with rails, helps with lowering module temperature (increasing
distance from roof) as well as discouraging rodent nesting (again the
further away from the roof deck the modules is, the less likely nesting is
to occur) in my experience.

I agree - the regular S-5! clamps with L-Feet and rails adds a lot of
flexibility. Plus, it is compatible with microinverter installations.

The S-5 Kit must be adjusted with the jam nuts potentially at every clamp
location to keep the modules from being forced to follow the roof contour.
We have always used L-feet and rails mounted to the standard S-5 clamps
since it creates a flat surface for the pv.
