[RE-wrenches] history of grid-tie inverters

Hi wrenches
I am writing a paper for school which talks a bit about the first grid-tied PV systems [both authorized and unauthorized] in history.
I am scouring old copies of Home Power and reading about the guerrilla solar systems of the 90's.

Could anyone direct me to a website, article, or book that talks about the first grid-tied PV systems? If it includes info about pioneer GT systems in Europe, Japan, and elsewhere as well, that'd be great.

thanks
