Hi all, thanks so much. I did do dilignece and checked it out. I thank you so much for the suggestions, I do not want to hear from this roof again, so I looked at it all.
Here is my conclusions:
When the array was installed, the first row was set, the next row was set on top touching the first row and fastened. Upon disasembly it was noted that one of the splice plates (there were several throughout the array had loosened.)
My conclusion The noise was from one row rubbing againts the other row. The expansion and contracton of the rails has to be centered at different points. (entrophy) therefore the modules move differently, and rub.
My future recomendation to my students and others on flush roof mounts do not go over 20' (no matter what Unirac implies) Of course do not have modules touching,
Thanks for all the help. your suggestions gave me a good sized check list, and I feel reasonably that if I reinstall the problem is gone.
