3m has a line of "double stick tapes called VHB: very high bond. The
adhesion is very strong; these materials are use by commercial glaziers to
stick glass onto the exterior of buildings.

Some of the tapes are very thin so they would not slow the heat flow into
the sensor very much. If your temp sensing element is flat that would be
best. McMaster.com has these rolls, or check eBay. I used some of this
material recently and as I said, the adhesion...
