Hello William,
As a follow up to a similar problem:
I recently traced the problem to the generator. With the OB power
system disconnected from the Kohler 8.5 RES and a halogen lamp
connected to the generator, voltage surges at shutdown from one phase
to neutral ranged from 135 to 168VAC. With the OB system connected
the surge was 178VAC at shutdown. No tweaking in the mate allowed
the inverter to drop input before the surge. A cool down time
eliminates the surge with an AGS gen stop. To eliminate the surge
with a manual shutdown from the mate a contactor controlled by the
AGS signal was installed to interrupt the generator input.
