[RE-wrenches] Contractor experience with SunMaxx aka Silicon Solar...care to share?

Hi, SunMaxx Solar is mainly focused on solar heat with a bit of PV on the
side. I wish to receive feedback from the RE-Wrench community on this
company, good or bad. Replies would be welcomed on-List or off-List. My only
interest in this company is as a prospective customer.

The company began in '06--not a lengthy track record--and I believe their
original company name was Silicon Solar--not to be confused with Silicon
Energy in the Pacific Northwest. Their thermal flat plate collectors are
presently manufactured in Austria but US based production is allegedly on
the radar screen. SunMaxx does have some serpentine (meander) type
collectors and allegedly they support "steam back" collector evacuation
methods...through strangely they say "steam back" is only for their harp
style collectors instead of the serpentine units. The company also sells
evacuated tube collectors.

SunMaxx is partially owned by TRA-Mage, the Utah based racking supplier...so
maybe there is some strong financial backing. NABCEP certified thermal
designers are on staff with SunMaxx so that's another good sign.

I've been hunting for thermal suppliers--other than Schuco--who are keen on
"steam back" for overheat protection but I've found nothing else in the US
market. I welcome any feedback reports as I consider the SunMaxx option.

Jolliness,

Mick Abraham, Proprietor
