[RE-wrenches] Blocking between rafters

Howdy Wrenches,

I am looking for some information on blocking between rafters for L foot
attachment.  We typically stack two 2 x 4s and nail them to the rafters.  My
issue is with proving this method to be structurally sound as far as dead
loading and uplift go.

Does anyone have any technical information on blocking that I could share
with building inspectors?
