Opps,
Did I say in-lbs? I meant lbs.
Also, is it true that the term "locking connector" is a creation of NEC 2008
and has no basis in any exisiting testing standards?
Is the "Connectors that are readily accessible....shall require a tool for
opening." the same as a "locking type" connector?
Does any of this matter?

Subject: [RE-wrenches] Latch Locking
Can anyone help me out with a reference.
NEC 2008, 690.33 (3), Type. "The connectors shall be of the latching or
locking type."
I know I once hand my hands on the authoritative source defining the terms
latching and locking, but no longer seem to be able to find it.
Do I still have it right: Latching: can be disconnected by applying a force
of 30 in-lbs, no other manipulation needed. Locking: can not be disconnected
without manipulating the connector, but can be done by hand. Locking
requiring a tool: same as locking but manipulation of connector can not be
by hand alone, requires a tool?
Thanks,
Mark Frye
