When the GTI first came out I installed it but never thought that the power back into the grid was too good so we just left them unpluged. They worked allot better! They were manufactured & installed prior to 2000.

Subject: SW4048 with GTI- suitable for off-grid? [RE-wrenches]

Friends:

I have a pair of SW4048 inverters configured for and including two GTI

adapters that were a trade in. I was never really comfortable with what

the GTI units were or the function they performed. Are these units

suitable for an off-grid installation?

Assuming one never has grid power connected, the GTI units will be

dormant. Do they even need to be installed? Do the inverters need to

communicate with them?

Thanks,

William Miller
