Grundfos pump and PSX 240 transformer [RE-wrenches]

Bob,
OK. How about a 120V open coil 30A power relay? Put the line to the
transformer on COM, the inverter output on NO, and the grid and coil on
NC. Power goes out and source slips to inverter.

Hi Allan,
He is sold on the constant pressure and has the electronic controller
and no pressure tank.. He only needs it to run when the power is off and
until the power is brought in. I hate to run the whole place through the
transformer but that is what might have to happen.
Bob

Bob,
The SQ uses a standard pressure switch or other external control setup;
the SQE includes the electronics for the constant-pressure. The SQE
costs a bit more than the SQ, but is (in our area anyway) more commonly
available, because it is more often specified in conventional grid
applications. The SQE may be used without the constant-pressure
approach, using a standard pressure switch setup. This lets you include
the common off-grid solution of letting the pressure switch control the
primary of the PSX240. In other words, ignore the constant-pressure
approach and wire it up like a conventional pump in an off-grid
application. If the customer objects, offer to sell him enough PV to run
the inverter and transformer continuously.

Subject: Grundfus pump and PSX 240 transformer [RE-wrenches]

I just got asked to install a transformer to run a 220 volt SQ
constant pressure pump.
It has the electronic pressure switch so how can I install the
transformer with that switch?
We all do it with regular pressure switches all the time, normally on
the well side of the switch, but I have never done it with this
switch. Any problems in the past?
He will keep his old inverter, an original FX 2000 and wants to use
it for emergencies. but running all the loads in the house through the
transformer makes no
sense to me, much less the load and inefficiencies of the transformer
on all the time.

Thanks,
Bob
