Squirrel damage! [RE-wrenches]

I think the solution I outlined was misinterpreted. I am not advocating an
expanded metal wrap around USE whips from modules! The USE whips go into
LFMC from underneath the module and there to an exposed j-box for transition
to THHN. The gaps around the periphery of the flush-mount PV modules are
then covered with expanded metal. This way the critters can't get underneath
the modules and find anything to chew.

IMHO the best anti-squirrel tool is a single pump, Olympic-class .22 cal
pellet rifle. This is the type used in the biathalon. The real thing costs
~$600 and is manufactured in Germany. Chinese knock offs can be purchased
for $150. These pups can be outfitted with high-brightness 3X scopes, and if
you put a drop of 3:1 oil in the chamber before the pellet (not recommended
by the manufacturer) the exit velocity can exceed the speed of sound and
produce a nice report. Make sure that the AHJ permits this sport in your
locale.

HI all
Is it unthinkable to when installing in a high
squirrel area to fasten a piece of either AL or
galvanized steel expanded metal over the wires. The
logistics might still be difficult from there.
