Hi Jim, et al,
I'm not smirking.
You are one smart cookie and I bet your checked batteries last a lot longer
than someone else's.
The only comment I could make is to buy the product from the manufacturer
for a lot less.

Technically it is an optical refractometer and it not only tests battery
acid but also glycol (both ethylene glycol and propylene glycol; toxic and
non toxic antifreeze) the two glycols are _not_ the same so if you are using
an anti freeze test strip (or float hydrometer) it had better be for the
proper fluid.
Kudos for taking the slings and arrows. He who laughs last, laughs best.

PS It is not uncommon for my properly sized and maintained (lead acid)
battery banks to last eight years.

It has been a while since I bought this and after reviewing the above
website, your advertised price is the same as mine (possible restraint of
trade issue) As I remember, the manufacturer's sales person was
"accommodating" and I paid less than $100 for the tool.
For those who want a digital version they do that, too (for almost three
times the cost).
Cheers
Bill
