Max,

We recently added an 8 panel tilt-up array to a ten-year old 8" SIP
roof. The rafters were full dimension 4x6's on 32 or 36" centers. We
used 3/8" x 12" galv. lags and took care to drill good and square to
the roof. In this case locating the rafters was easy because of 2
original arrays' mounting feet, and consistent metal roof panels for
reference. Also there was no fascia, so we could use a level to
relate the rafter tails to the standing seams at the eave. Slightly
tricky was feeling how much to tighten since the foam can compress a
bit.
