Hi Phil;
THe only thing I could think, is that your battery voltage would
drop, when the EV charger came on. If its a small battery bank this
could be a large enough drop to cause the MX 60 output to go over 60
amps long enough to trip the breaker. We had a similar problem,
everything fine most of the time, but with high enough array power,
and a low enough battery voltage, (Power / voltage = current) You
are going to go over 60 amps. I figure at full array output, a
battery voltage of 45.3 will give you 60 amps. If your array outputs
more than rating (which we are seeing most of the time with
Solarworlds) then the problem gets worse.
I think the problem is its a higher array output than rating, and a
very small battery. Also if the room is warm, that will move the trip
curve of the breaker as well.
