Personally, I am with some others here and don't believe in subsidies of any 
type for anyone, whether it is dairy cows, pv, or nukes.

My big problem with subsidies is that they hide the real cost of things, and 
that thousands of subsidies that congress has put in place over the past 
100+ years never go away, regardless of how things have changed. That is why 
your tax money is still paying part of the cost of everything from railroads 
to coal mines.

If the true cost of various energy sources was being paid by the end user, 
you would see a large shift to conservation and efficiency, and renewable 
would be much more competitive. But as you say, they will never go away.
