s!5 Clamps [RE-wrenches]

So n using the s5 clips how does 1 locate the clips? I would be very interested in what the manu says re/ distance of spacing the clips if 1 has the opportunity to suggest stitch/layout of the pan securing clips. One roofer suggested 6" spacing! That would, if one were to come in after the roof went down, make it tough to NOT pinch a clamp. - have always found the lack of documentation severely lacking re/ S5 clips!

TUMP,

Sorry for the confusion. I'm not talking about lags or fastening through

the metal pan itself. The S5 clamps onto the standing seam, but just not

directly on top of (pinching) the location of the roofing clip that

secures the metal pan to the purlin or the wood deck. I have called my

roofer and Dynamic Fasteners (S5 distributor) this morning to verify

that this is the correct. Dynamic Fasteners is working on providing me

documentation.

By the way: my roofer said he has installed S5s directly pinching the

roof clips on his own house 3 years ago. However, he used two roof clips

at each location to fasten to the wood deck. The S5 clamp was installed

directly over only one of the clips. He admitted his mistake in doing

this, but said he has not noticed a problem so far. However, he can't

see if there is a problem because it is all covered up by the roof

metal. Also, the pans on his house are short.

Aaron

I guess I'm missing something here..... just how does one attach the s 5

clip if it is designed to clamp the standing seam of the roof panel?

"Therefore, place the S5 clamps within a couple inches of the roof clips

but not directly over them."

Why would I want to use these? Seems like your saying lag thru the panel

kinda like what is done to a shingled roof? Please clarify! Thanks, TUMP
