Broken modules [RE-wrenches]

manual has a warning about this very issue.   They suggest reinforcing 
the bottom edge.  I'd use a piece of 1.5"  aluminum angle.

Have seen this kind of damage too. First if structure mounted , keep as  high 
or close to top as possible. Roofs in these areas hopefully are steep.and  
the snow will slide off. The real destroyer here is the ice from  freeze-thaw 
cycles--turns into heavy ice burgs that can rip anythiing off a roof  . Have 
seen all kinds items sheared of the roof. In some high country installs,  
customer must bring inside. Some times pole mounts make it if stowed vertical.  
Bottom line- in these place there will be "issues"
