Hi Wrenches
A clients horses got tangled up in an exposed cable and ripped the
teck cable along with the combiner box right off the pole including
all the mc cables running into a 10 panel array. The cable was left
exposed two years ago after an installation and the customer was
supposed to back fill around it but obviously didn't. I was able to
repair/replace all the cables except on one panel where the j-box
terminal was broken including the circuit board inside. I'm asking if
anyone can suggest ways and means to repair this rather than replace
the expensive 150/24 panel which is unavailable in N.A. right now
anyway as far as I know. It would really be a shame to have to fit
another panel into the array that would change the aesthetics as it's
a really nice looking array.
I've posted some pics here: http://solareagle.com/iso.html
Two of the ribbon connectors have been severed just where they go
under the edge of the j-box but if the box was separated from the
panel it looks like it might be possible to re-join (solder) them
back on. The circuit board could be epoxied back together along with
the connector broken off the side. The ideal solution would be to get
another J-box from Isofoton -- has anyone had experience replacing
those?
