Sharp SunVista [RE-wrenches]

I've got a Sharp SunVista 3.5 kW inverter that appears to have died--no
display. It's been in the field for about three years and has no display.
What's been the collective experience of you all as far as the performance
and reliability of this inverter, which is no longer made?
I've called our Sharp friends twice now and they seem to be asleep at the
wheel since no one there is able to tell me what to do with the inverter,
where to send it, etc. Sharp customer service? Hah! Any suggestions on
what else I can do to get my customer back on-line?
Thanks,
marco
