Larry/Wrenches:

All Sunny Island 5048U inverters in the same cluster are programmed at
the master unit. All of the other invretrs in the cluster are
controlled by the master unit to avoid any issues of coordination. In
other words you should never see a situation where one is charing while
another in inverting.

A cluster is defined as a single battery and single load circuit.
Larger systems are possible by splitting the loads up into multiple sub
panels with a single cluster (and battery bank) feeding each sub-panel.
A single large generator can be used to feed multiple clusters of Sunny
Island 5048U inverters and connected loads. It is also possible to
switch some of the Sunny Boy power between clusters based on state of
charge using the programmable relays in the Sunny Island =. This helps
to balance the solar resource between imbalanced loads on the different
clusters.

Best Regards,

John Berdner

This location has one 60kW generator. If it is running, all inverters
will be in bypass and be charging the batteries. So this should not
matter.
