Battery enclosures and NEC [RE-wrenches]

We usually build custom boxes for our battery banks and put latches on
them that can be locked. But I'm not aware of any requirement that the
battery room or enclosure be lockable. We've never put locks on any of
our battery boxes.

Subject: Battery enclosures and NEC [RE-wrenches]
I was under the impression that the NEC required a sealed, lockable
enclosure for batteries but when questioned on it I couldn't find a
passage
in the code. Did I make that up? Does anyone else use lockable
enclosures?
Thanks in advance,
-Nik
