Hello Ray, David, Bob, Ted, Carol, Alice, etc...

>>Their (Magnum's) literature says 2 amps @ 24 volts which is about what
>>your measurements confirm.

The 2 Amp idle is actually for the 12 Volt MS inverters, which, I agree
is too high for most R.E. installs. This higher idle power stems from
the MS2812's lower pricing and previous typical application history. I
will harp on the higher-ups to have Magnum make another version with
lower idle, which is certainly do-able.

In checking on this I found an error in our on-line spec sheet where it
says the MS4024 draws 0.6 Amps at 24 VDC. It should be 1.1 Amps of idle
current. The MS4024 idle is typically more like 22 to 25 Watts, as is
the MS4448AE.

As for the search mode problem, I haven't seen that particular one
personally, but I haven't played much with the 12V units lately. You may
want to call Tony Boatwright, our apps guy that some of you may remember
from the old Trace days. In fact, it's kinda like working at old Trace
Engineering around here with all the old faces (but not necessarily
wrinkled).
