Demand heater for SHW backup [RE-wrenches]

Hi Jeff et al,

You are correct there was a bimetal (no electric required) backdraft damper
that was manufactured in various flue sizes that would "close" when there
was no main burner heat and "open" when main burner heat was present.
Ameritherm was one manufacturer.

If I am remembering correctly, Chuck Marken was involved with the design
(and perhaps more) of one of these units a long long time ago. Perhaps he
can add something to the discussion?
