Mark,
We use the loom clamps (rubber-wrapped metal straps). We get them from Del
City and they're not expensive in bags of 100. We carry sizes 4, 6, 8, 10,
and 12, to carry between one and about 10-12 USE-2 conductors.

The primary benefit of the rubber is to add the necessary clamping friction
to keep the wires from slipping once clamped. Cushioning protection is nice,
but secondary.

We oughtta use the clips; seems to make sense. But the clamps allow wire
bundling, which is especially nice with multiple input strings.
