Kelly,
If you were able to get under the ridge cap, we have the perfect product
for you. Our first production run on our low temperature module bypass
will be ready in a few days. This is a small box that mounts behind one
module in a string and essentially takes that module out of the string
when the temperature drops below 20F, lowering the string voltage by the
open circuit voltage of one module. The box has 4 MC connectors on it so
it can easily be wired across the last module in the string. This device
is being manufactured for us by Apollo Solar. We originally designed it
for grid tie systems where string sizing is tight, but it could easily
be used to protect MX-60 and T-80 charge controls from over-voltage.
