Equalizing battery charger [RE-wrenches]

Something no one's mentioned yet that probably needs to be is that a lot of
chargers (and integral inverter/chargers) don’t perform anywhere near their
peak on "contractor grade" generators. We saw a world of difference once we
started using the inverter based generators on the smaller systems.
Stationary type generators normally allow the chargers to perform at or near
their rating from what I've seen. I know there are folks who know a lot
more about that then me so I leave further explanation to them.

We have DLS-55 that does 14.8 with the plug removed and 15.4 with it in (or
is it opposite?) but it's not a 3-stage. It's a constant voltage. We've
used it for years and it still operates fine.

It sounds like Roy's experiences are similar to mine. Inverters with
integral chargers are truly a bargain compared to industrial chargers.
Especially when you factor in that you can actually adjust output voltage
and amperage with inverters.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I have never had good luck with small chargers to charge, much less
equalize. If on generator it tales longer than forever!
What i usually do is a small inverter, look at the Magnum MM1212 watt
it has a 70 amp charger and only draws 9 amps
The sine wave is the MMS 1012 and puts out 50 amps.

Just a suggestion that you didn't want.
Just one of the services I provide.....

Merry Christmas to all,

Bob
