wire selection help needed [RE-wrenches]

Hi, #6 THHN is easy for me to find but I want something more flexible
than that. The guys that make X-Flex cable also build smaller sizes; my
Cobra sales rep says this is actually called UL1015 when gauged small,
but they only have it in black.

I've considered using the Arctic Ultraflex as may be admired inside one
of the new Xantrex XW power distribution boxes. It's available in
colors, but it has to ship from Anchorage...a cost burden unless one is
buying by the mile. I don't need cold weather flexibility nor sunlight
resistance...I just need a good non-exotic substitute for THHN that has
more strands of finer wire.

Could I get a Wrench recommendation for what to look for? UL1283 seems
to be showing up (along with UL1015) from my primitive research so far.
I think what I want might fall into the category of MTW machine tool
wire, or maybe "hookup wire". I have an account with Anixter so if I can
figure out what to ask for, I might be able to get it through them.
Alternate vendor suggestions would be welcomed, but should perhaps come
off list to maintain good List etiquette.

Thanks,

Mick Abraham, Proprietor
