BP-Home Depot question [RE-wrenches]

Fellow Wrenches,

I understand that BP has teamed up with Home Depot to market PV package
systems in the "hot markets" of California, New Jersey, and maybe some other
states. I have heard that BP is looking to expand this program into New
Mexico, as our state has recently established some increased incentive
programs.

To those who work in areas where BP/HD has been active, what have been the
effects of their involvement? Do they take away from your business, or do
they increase the level of PV activity overall by attracting different
markets and/or raising mainstream awareness? How do they handle
installations, and is the quality generally good? Any horror stories to
share? Knowing what you know now, how would you advise an independent dealer
to prepare for their entry into our markets?

Any advice would be appreciated. Off-list replies will be kept confidential.

Thanks,
Allan at Positive Energy
