Hi Jay,

No, I have not tried that yet.  Of course you don't need it for a 
thermostat transfer.  And I use analog circuits for the simple 
voltage switching jobs.

You could switch a heater based on battery voltage (the Proven wind 
turbine controller works like this) but the tristar does a better job 
of looking after the batteries with PWM so I would prefer to use that.

The relay driver looks fun though.   Could be handy for gen start.
