Kaneka GSA? [RE-wrenches]

William and Travis,

The HU361 can be used for 9 or even 12 strings in a few cases provided that
the 3 poles are each going to their own inverter (3 inverters). Low current
modules like Sanyo and a-Si modules need individual string series fusing.

Bill.

Travis:

Good questions. For a start, John Berdner wrote a White Paper on
determining if fuses are required in any paralleling of individual modules
or strings. For some reason it is no longer on the SMA web site but it is
on mine:

http://mpandc.com/resources/ul_fuses.pdf

The SMA tech notes page has a note on the Square D HU361 re-rating that
happened some time ago, making it a good disconnect for up to 9
strings. SMA also offers a DC disconnect/fused combiner for when you
exceed the parameters outlined in the fuse white paper (Combi switch).

This should give you something to ponder. Write back if you have further
questions.
