Does it use one of the Danfoss hermetic compressors with the external power module?  If so, upi're in luck -- just swap the old 12V power module for a 24V one or the new dual voltage version<http://www.rparts.com/Catalog/Major_Components/compressors/Danfoss/danfoss.asp>
