Several years ago we needed to R&R 4x10 thermal collectors for a new copper
roof. The roofers used metal working vise grips with 6" jaws covered with
duct tape to grab the seam. Squeeze REALLY TIGHT. Best find a roofer doing a
copper job and watch carefully !
As for domes we set up pipe and clamp scaffolding which can be almost any
shape--like an erector set-- and can cantilever inwards as you go up.Contact

Tom,
My new favorite is the Brucie Brackets
http://www.bruciebracket.com/
They are expensive, but quick and safer than some other methods which have
included everything from ropes, to S-5 clips, to ladders off of ground
staging.
Good Luck

Hello,
I am seeking advice for staging a standing-seam metal roof. It is an
8/12 pitch and I prefer to work from the top down. The work area will be
~ 30 feet wide and 12 feet high. My only idea to this point has been to
hang a ladder from the ridge at each end and plank across.
The only other staging pboblem I've ever encountered was working on a
dome....was like trying to set-up staging on a golf ball....
thanks,
Tom
