Dual displays that can show AC/DC components of a signal simultaneously, or voltage and frequency on an AC circuit, or frequency and duty cycle. Both can send IR data to your PC, the 189 adds memory for 1000 measurements -- ideal for doing battery cell voltage readings on a large bank.
I've owned and 8060a and a couple flavors of 87s, all of which were wonderful. The 187 and 189 are even better.
