hey;
       check out an evapotranspiration system / with multiple multrums. 
kingsland bay state park near vergennes  has one here in Vermont (in that fine 
vergennes clay). it was designed by a dude named Dave cotton when he worked for 
the state. he's on his own now -- I'll try to run down his particulars for you 
if you'd like. good luck db
