We use Hilti Products and they have a ground rod attachment tool tip that
works well in their larger formatted hammer drills. We have used these for
years. Rock, lava etc., will always be a problem, so consider driving
multiple rods in this scenario- the same as all sand environments and other
non complimentary ohms- to ground unhappiness. We are at the point of always
driving 2 for future proofing things.
Always put the ground rod clamp on, before, mushrooming the tip of the rod!

endeavor.

I hope everyone takes a moment to remember and why.
Thanks to everyone for the discussion on this topic. It's been helpful to
me and I hope everyone else. I love this list and all of you!
I had one more, perhaps more basic question to ask. Are there any unique
methods or specialized equipment known to anyone, that will make the task of
driving the ground rod in the ground easier or more successful?
