On this end of the country, (Northern New York)  Wild blue has no
coverage at all and people are real unhappy about it, wouldn't touch it
with a 10' pole. Star Band seems to have some problems also.
Direcway works but is expensive. 

If you have good cell service in the area, there are wireless that are
based on cell service. With Cingular in this area it is $59.00 a month
for unlimited connection time and if you have a laptop it will work
anytime you have a signal. So you are not stuck at home tied to a dish.
Speeds are good and dependability seems good. I have some customers with
the Cingular service and it works real well. That is probably what I
will do here, sounds like the better of the choices so far.

Wrenches,

  Way back in Aug of '04 their was some talk about satellite broadband
on 
the list and a couple of folks said to wait for Wildblue instead of
Starband 
or Direcway. Have opinions changed? We are searching for good feedback
on 
any of the choices. Online reviews swing from great to horrible on
services, 
so I am reluctant to believe them. Is there specific hardware or system
we 
should look at over another?
